Chaplains

Chaplaincy among the marginalised.
We are all God’s children as well as part of a wider extended family of relationships.
We are all born as sons or daughters to our mother & fathers.
We may also be brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc., to other family members as well as having them ourselves.
Some of us are grand-parents or even great-grand-parents.
Such relationships are part of our lives.
How would you feel not having such relationships?
Could you get alongside others not as fortunate as many of us are in the relationships that we have?
We need more volunteers, acting as chaplains, with those who are marginalised with no such strong relationships…..it might be as simple as playing a board game or sharing some basic cooking skills – is that something you could offer?????

Other Chaplaincy Opportunities.
We welcome expressions of interest to join our existing chaplains supporting workers in shops and offices, residents and staff in care homes and the general public in the town centre shopping areas, parks and open spaces and to cover a few hours to extend the opening times at the Chaplaincy Offices in the Market House. We particularly need more volunteers to work alongside our chaplains to the homeless and vulnerable and to fill vacancies in Care Homes and among the marginalised.

All applicants must have been a committed member of their church for over a year and have the support of their minister/church leader. Please email us or call to chat if any of these opportunities are of interest to you.  Simply contact Adrian Prior-Sankey, our Lead Chaplain, at adrian@tauntontc.co.uk, call 07581 424 420 or pop in if you are passing when our ‘welcome’ sign is outside - We’re on the first floor of the Market House accessed from the doors opposite Starbucks café.
